About Muse

MUSE is a multi-tasking brand and boutique that curates beautiful clothes from the best in women’s fashion today. Directed by Olivia Vincent, the company has expanded from a single boutique to two highly prized locations in Auckland, New Zealand, along with an online store and in house label, MUSE Cashmere.

MUSE selects the best pieces from collections by Christopher Esber, Victoria Beckham, Missoni, Diane Von Fürstenberg, Rebecca Taylor, M.i.h Jeans, Carven, Erdem, Maggie Marilyn, Theory, Tibi, Cecilie Copenhagen, Sea New York, Cosabella, Celine Eyewear and Roland Mouret.

All selections are chosen through a lens of pure joy, practicality and an innate understanding of how the MUSE customer loves to dress, shop and live.

Owner — Olivia Vincent

Olivia Vincent became the new owner of MUSE in 2014. Under her watch the company has grown with grace and pace, and is an essential part of New Zealand’s boutique shopping landscape.

Olivia takes four annual buying trips to New York and Paris to select wardrobe stand outs and essentials that help women of all ages live their best life.

Whether its a maximalist print on a summer dress, or a cashmere wrap that can be worn with everything, Olivia has a talent for curating and designing exactly the right pieces, every season.

The Boutiques

Our boutiques offer customers a sophisticated retail experience in concert with leading international designer collections. The spaces act as strong but understated backdrops that allow Muse owner and buyer, Olivia Vincent, to adapt and compliment her evolving vision of contemporary fashion.

The recent refurbishment of Muse's Newmarket boutique establishes the women’s multi-brand store as a leading retail destination and flagship for the brand's in-house cashmere collection.

Using simple, natural materials and a bold palette, the space is both confident and directional - speaking strongly to the Muse customer - contributing to a sense of tactile luxury further emphasized by collections from Tibi, Diane Von Furstenburg, Victoria Victoria Beckham and Theory.

The space reconfigures and extends the existing floor area creating two distinct sales and display areas and a larger dressing area. The interior palette is based around a combination of simple geometric forms punctuated by strong blocks of colour and expressive materiality. Oiled Walnut, Rosso Levanto marble, aged brass, and specialist plaster finishes combine to create a luxuriant but refined atmosphere.

PONSONBY

In 2017 Olivia Vincent opened a second boutique in Ponsonby. Working with a large open plan and intimate dressing rooms, the interior design is based around a combination of simple geometric forms accentuated by ornate plaster mouldings. Referencing both the local vernacular of Ponsonby villas and imbuing the space with a European sensibility that mirrors Muse’s growing brand stable. The neutral palette highlighted travertine, brass, o-white plaster and refurnished Kauri. This curation of materials further emphasises Muse’s approach to tactile and layered luxury.
