My MUSE | Rebe Burgess

Hello everyone,

Olivia here, to introduce you to this week’s My MUSE: the gorgeous, inspiring and endlessly talented, Rebe Burgess.

This one sits particularly close to my heart, as not only was Rebe a much-loved member of team MUSE for seven glorious years, as a buyer, social media manager and retail stylist, she is also soon to become my sister-in-law! While at MUSE, Rebe noticed a gap in our offering, and set her mind to creating timeless pieces to be worn and loved forever. A few years ago, with few stunning designs under her (chic, perfectly crafted) belt, Rebe launched her namesake label – and, in the last few weeks, her highly anticipated ready-to-wear collection. And it’s absolutely beautiful.

A lover of elevated, reimagined essentials, Rebe has cultivated a collection that will proudly stand the test of time. Each piece is a perfectly crafted balance of functionality and form, elegance and the everyday. Genuine, thoughtful and enviably creative, Rebe is the real deal and a muse through and through. We are all so proud of her, and can’t wait to see her flourish in her stunning new chapter.

I sat down with Rebe to talk about inspiration, wardrobe must-haves and the importance of community.

Rebe, hello! We’re all talking about REBE the brand … Can you tell us a bit about your journey so far?

Of course. I started my brand a few years ago now with a small run of Panama straw hats (a style that I still sell today, and MUSE customers are very familiar with!). Around the same time, I began my professional journey with MUSE. I'm so grateful for my time at MUSE (seven years!) and absolutely adore the team. I learnt so much during my years working as a buyer and engaging with MUSE's amazing customers daily – it taught me so much about what women really want in their wardrobes.

Following the hats, I had a foray into footwear – and then it made sense that my next steps would be in ready-to-wear. Therefore, I decided to take some time to focus on my first range. It's so great to have finally launched my first RTW collection and to see the product being enjoyed out in the wild!

What is the ethos behind the brand, and can you tell us a bit about the collection?

REBE exists to refine and elevate the classics, reimagining wardrobe essentials to cultivate collections that are truly timeless. In my design process, I consistently seek a balance of functionality and aesthetics, creating pieces that are both beautiful and practical. This philosophy greatly informed my first ready-to-wear collection. You could say REBE functions as an extension of my personal wardrobe, comprised of classic, high-quality items that I continue to cherish over numerous seasons.
My aspiration is for women who choose REBE to curate their own wardrobes in a similar way, featuring pieces that enrich their everyday lives and style.

Since starting REBE, what significant discoveries have you made?

I've truly come to realize how important it is to have a strong community of people around you. I'm incredibly grateful for everyone who has been a part of the REBE journey so far and all the amazing people who have been more than willing to share their knowledge and experiences with me.

Where do you look for creative inspiration?

Much of my creative inspiration is drawn directly from my daily life. What I seek in my wardrobe is entirely influenced by my lifestyle, guiding the design of pieces that I'm confident will serve a purpose and elevate my everyday experiences.

What is on your MUSE wishlist at the moment?

Oh dear lots of course haha.. the Harris Tapper Albus Top, Bernadette Luca Dress, Sophie Bille Brahe Pearls and the Coperni Heart Tote.. This is a bit biased, but I highly recommend the REBE Trench Coat in black. I've been wearing this style regularly! It's perfect for those days when you might feel a bit scruffy, but as soon as you put it on, you instantly feel chic!
